AI autocomplete was a feature that let you type +++ in the notes editor to trigger an AI-generated continuation of your text. It was removed from Anara as part of a product update. If you previously used autocomplete while writing, this article explains what changed and how to get similar results today.
Why was AI autocomplete removed?
As Anara evolved toward deeper research workflows, the product shifted focus to features like agent chat, deep search, and document-grounded writing tools. The +++ autocomplete saw limited usage compared to these newer capabilities, and was removed to simplify the editor and concentrate development on the core research experience.
What to use instead
You can still get AI-powered writing help directly in the editor and in chat:
Open a note and use the AI writing actions in the editor toolbar. You can ask the AI to continue writing, expand a paragraph, or rewrite selected text, all grounded in your attached files.
In any chat, ask the agent to draft or extend text for you. For example: "Continue this paragraph based on the findings in my paper." You can then copy the result into your note.
Mention specific files or folders using @ in the chat input to give the AI targeted context for better writing suggestions.
These tools give you more control over what the AI writes and what sources it draws from, compared to the generic autocomplete continuation.
