Flashcards were removed from Anara in March 2026 as part of a broader product update. If you previously used flashcards to study from your documents, this article explains what changed and how to get similar results with the tools available today.
Why were flashcards removed?
Anara's product direction shifted toward research synthesis β helping researchers and students work deeply with scientific literature, rather than general study tools. Usage data showed that flashcards were used by a small segment of users, and the feature was removed to focus development on the core research workflow.
What to use instead
You can still create study material from your documents using Anara's AI chat and notes:
Open a file or folder and start a chat with the Agent.
Ask it to generate study questions, key concepts, or Q&A pairs from your documents. For example: "Create 20 question-and-answer pairs from this paper for exam prep."
Copy the output into a note to organize and edit it for studying.
The Agent has full access to your uploaded documents and can generate structured study content tailored to what you need β including multiple choice, short answer, or concept summaries.
Can I still access my old flashcards?
Existing flashcard decks that were created before the feature was removed are no longer accessible in the app. If you need the content from old flashcards, contact support and we can help.
