Understanding charges and billing

How Anara's billing cycle works, monthly vs yearly plans, prorated charges, and payment methods.

Anara billing is straightforward: you pay at the start of each billing period, upgrades are prorated, and downgrades take effect at the end of your current period. Here's how the details work.

Billing cycles

Anara offers two billing frequencies:

  • Monthly: Charged once per month, on the date you first subscribed.

  • Yearly: Charged once per year. Yearly plans cost less overall than month-to-month. See anara.com/pricing for current rates.

You can switch from monthly to yearly at any time from Settings > Billing.

When you're charged

Your payment method is charged automatically at the start of each billing period. You'll receive a receipt by email after each successful charge.

Credit top-up charges

Alongside your subscription, you may see one-off charges for Anara credits: extra usage that workspace owners and admins can add when a heavy week uses up the plan's included usage. Credit purchases are charged at checkout when they're made, and each one gets its own receipt. If auto-refill is turned on, refills appear the same way.

Upgrades and prorated charges

When you upgrade mid-cycle, the charge applies immediately. The amount is prorated based on how much of your current billing period remains — you only pay for the time at the new plan rate.

When you downgrade, the change takes effect at the end of your current billing period. No partial refund is issued for the remaining time on the higher plan.

Example: If you upgrade halfway through your billing month, you'll be charged roughly half the difference between the two plans' monthly rates for the remainder of that month.

Payment methods

Anara accepts credit and debit cards. To update your payment method:

  1. Go to Settings > Billing.

  2. Find the payment method section and click to update.

  3. Enter your new card details and save.

Failed payments

If a payment fails, Anara will retry automatically and you'll receive an email notification. Update your payment method in Settings > Billing to resolve a failed payment.

Common questions

  • Why was I charged twice? The most common reason is a credit top-up or auto-refill alongside your subscription charge; credit purchases appear as separate charges for Anara credits. It can also happen if an upgrade charge and a renewal charge fell close together. Check the dates and descriptions in your billing history. If something looks wrong, request a refund.

  • Where's my receipt? Check the email address on your Anara account. Receipts are sent automatically after each charge.

  • How do I cancel? See How to cancel your subscription.
