Ask Anara a question and every answer comes back with inline citations linking to the exact passages it drew from. No hallucinations, no guessing β just your research, surfaced and explained.
Starting a chat
There are a few ways to open a chat, depending on where you are:
From Home: Click Chat with folder or Chat with file in the Quick Actions section to scope the conversation, or use the main chat input to search across your entire library.
From agent: Click "Agent" in the top right corner of the app.
From any document: Open a paper in the viewer, then click the Ask tab in the sidebar on the right. The AI is scoped to that file by default.
Tip: Use Agent chat to persist your conversation as you navigate the app. Agent has context of whatever files are currently in view. Use Ask chat for questions relating only to the file or folder open.
Starter prompts
When you open a chat, Anara shows up to 6 starter prompts generated from your library content and the document you're reading. These are designed to get you started quickly. Click any prompt to send it, or click More to see additional suggestions.
What to ask
The AI can handle a wide range of research tasks in a single conversation:
Summarize or explain a paper
Compare findings across multiple documents
Answer specific questions about your library
Find information on the web and combine it with your documents
Create notes, citations, or visualizations
Run code or analyze data from your files
For a full list of what the AI can do, see What can Anara do?
Stopping and regenerating responses
Click the Stop button during generation to interrupt a response. To get a different answer to the same question, click Regenerate on any response.
Chat history
Conversations are saved automatically. Click the title dropdown at the top of the chat panel to browse previous conversations and pick up where you left off.
Tip: Type @ in the chat input to control exactly which sources the AI searches and which tools it uses. See Using @mentions to control the AI.
If something isn't working
The AI isn't finding my documents. Make sure your files have finished processing. You'll see "Full text: Available" in the library table when a document is fully indexed and searchable.
Responses don't include citations. Check that library search isn't disabled. Look for the toggle buttons below the chat input and make sure neither source is turned off.
The chat panel is missing. If you're in the document viewer and can't see the sidebar, click the toggle button on the right edge of the viewer to open it.
